Service Parts Buyer – Winnipeg, MB

Maintaining stock replenishment process to achieve targets on stock level and service rate via comprehensive data analysis, communication to the suppliers and stakeholders inside the company. Issue and expedite purchase orders to a variety of suppliers according to the targets and requests from the customers.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Inventory analysis and demand forecasting to keep stock replenishment process 
  • Follow-up with CSRs’ in regards to specific status of orders
  • Update pricing for items which fall outside margin thresholds for profitability of parts. 
  • Update various purchasing information (Vendor #, Part #, Supersessions and Lead times) on a regular basis
  • Initiate Engineering Deviations- when required
  • Submit RFQ’s to vendors and Sourcing/Re-sourcing initiatives when required
  • Implement appropriate purchasing strategies to select suppliers of the highest quality, lowest cost and timely delivery
  • Negotiate purchase agreements and pricing /delivery with suppliers
  • Expedite delivery of purchase goods and services
  • Initiate, develop and implement cost savings proposals in conjunction with Engineering, Quality Assurance and Production 
  • Reporting on various areas and participating the projects 

Qualifications:

  • PMAC/APICS education and/or a min. 5 years purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with MAPICS and AS400 systems with MRP experience is an asset
  • Several years experience in a manufacturing industry or at distributor side
  • Strong skills in inventory analysis
  • Deep understanding on supply chain, forecasting methods and ability to perform complicated analytical tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to be strong yet professional when dealing with difficult suppliers
  • Experience in MS Word and Excel programs
  • Ability to extract information for parts and report on findings
